The Sisters of Mary Immaculate Queen are a traditional Catholic Religious Congregation dedicated to preserving and spreading the true Faith and promoting the message of Our Lady of Fatima. Their motherhouse, St. Michael’s Convent, is located at Mount St. Michael, just north of Spokane, Washington.
The Marian Sisters make profession of the simple religious vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, and live according to a rule based on that of the Servite Order. Their spirit, as can be seen by their full-length blue habits, complete with Rosary and Miraculous Medal, is distinctly Marian, and is based on the Total Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary as taught by St. Louis Marie de Montfort.
As for their works, the Marian Sisters engage in an active apostolate, which includes teaching and parish work as well as promoting Catholic publications and other media. They staff a K-12 Catholic academy, a print shop, and a religious bookstore and mail order center. In 1979, the Sisters also began making recordings as the “Singing Nuns,” a work which has proved to be a kind of mission as well as a means of financial support.
“The general object proposed to those who enter our Congregation is to serve God and to acquire personal sanctity by the observance of the three simple vows and of these Constitutions and Rules” (Chapter VIII of the Holy Rule). This striving for personal holiness is the object for which the Congregation was founded and for which all religious communities exist. It is by living and spreading the message of Fatima and the Catholic Faith in its entirety that the members of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen hope to fulfill their end and purpose: the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
